There's something about watching the ocean and that first glow of daylight when the sun rises, and also when the sun is setting, that brings up feelings of nostalgia, or a wistfulness... Ombrielle is a rather poetic-sounding word to describe the version of a loved one who now exists only in your memory. This mixed media artwork is a nod to those feelings.

The art is permanently attached to an 8" x 8" white card, which fits inside the frame. The frame is 2.4" deep.

The main section has been created on a 4" x 4" thick wood panel, and it's surrounded by pieces of hand stitched soft green wool, with pretty beads sewn into the wool.

There are 2 oval shaped concentric circles, one at the top left of the painted panel, and one at the bottom right of the painted panel ~ as above, so below!

Please look at all the images; you will see that my hand is holding the artwork in some of the photos, which helps you get an idea of the scale (I only make little artworks; this is one of my 'larger' artworks, but it is still a small piece!).

Materials: Gouache, ink, pencil, paper, beads, sequins, and a variety of stitched fabrics and wool.
The oval painted sections and the painted wood panel have been sprayed with a glossy varnish to help protect the colours and to give them a shiny finish.
