Santa's Igloo!

A bright, playful and whimsical Christmas-themed artwork on a hexagon-shaped canvas. A flurry of tiny hand-stitched pieces of fabric and beads make up this dramatic abstract snowstorm, and amongst it all are 6 painted sections: at the top, 3 pink snow-filled clouds. At the bottom: Santa's hideout (the blue igloo, bottom left), his satchel of stars (bottom centre), and his very own little Christmas tree (bottom right). Is he stealing the stars... is there some magic in his satchel that catches them... or is he releasing them into the sky? (I shall let you decide whether you think Father Christmas is up to no good this year!)

I absolutely loved making this one, and I hope you will enjoy this special little piece as part of your festive decor.

At the widest point, the width of the artwork is 16cm/ 6.3 inches
At the widest point, the height of the artwork is 14 cm/ 5.5 inches
Please take a look at all the images - there's one where I'm holding the frame, and another where I'm holding the card that the piece is attached to. These will help you get an idea of the scale (I only make precious, little artworks!).

The edges of the canvas are painted in pink, and the canvas itself is permanently attached to an 8" x 8" piece of white card, which resides inside the white box frame. This item will be sent out in the frame, so it is ready to either hang or sit on a table or shelf.

The full mixture of materials that make up this very textured wall decoration: Gouache, ink, pencil, paper, sewn fabrics with beads, and glittery card. The glittered card and the painted sections on paper have been sprayed with a glossy varnish to help protect the colours and to give them a lovely, vibrant sheen.

It's been a labour of painted and stitched love, and took several full days to create from start to finish!
