'Sun Fleur'

Whatever life's weathers, the bright ones always turn towards the sun

~ These words are written inside the mini scroll, which is part of the artwork. You can take the scroll off the piece and open it up to read the sentence, then reattach it with the shiny red wire (see photos!).

I love the idea that we can choose where to direct our attention, although this can be easily forgotten too, so I'm making a collection of mini mixed-media wall hangings about having a sunny outlook and remembering that the beautiful things in life are worth turning towards. This is the first one in the series. They're all going to be colourful and a little bit quirky.

Your sunflower artwork will arrive in a pretty gift box and contain a picture hook. It's unframed and ready to hang, designed to bring a splash of optimism to a special little place wherever you choose to place it in your beautiful home.

The base is made from polymer clay which has been varnished. The sunflower emblem has been created using Gouache, ink and pencil on paper, and this too has been varnished to help protect the bright colours from (ironically!) bright sunshine. There are 2 vibrant, see-through yellow sequins that resemble sunflower petals - these are on the left-hand side of the piece and have been stitched into the tiny pieces of fabric. There are other pieces of beaded textile art incorporated into the piece. It has been made completely by hand.

Dimensions: The whole length (including the hanging thread) is approx 10.7cm/ 4.2".
The width at the widest point, because of the yellow sequins which stick out on the left-hand side, is approx 6.4cm/ 2.5".
The depth at most, due to the beaded textile art, is approx 1cm/ 0.4". Please see the last photo; this provides an image with the measurements.

This would also make a lovely, unique gift for someone who is perhaps going through a challenging time and whose world needs a bit more brightness, colour and joy.

UK buyers: this piece will be sent using Royal Mail Tracked 24. For US buyers, your artwork will also be sent tracked.

You will also receive a signed certificate of authenticity with Sun Fleur #1!
